Raising Awareness of New Interventional Procedures Recommendations from NICE

Read the NICE Recommendation – Radiofrequency Denervation for Osteoarthritic Knee Pain

The new interventional procedure recommendations published by NICE is a great step forward to help adopt Radio-Frequency Ablation therapy for the treatment of Osteoarthritic knee pain. Having observed the transformation in the quality of life of patients under my care using this treatment, I am delighted to see the publication of the NICE recommendations. I hope this will now help to increase awareness of this innovative therapy leading to improved outcomes for many more patients.

Discover Cooled, Standard and Pulsed RF Pain Management Solutions for Osteoarthritic Knee Pain and Other Modalities

Cooled Radiofrequency

With COOLIEF Cooled RF, water-cooled electrodes enable more RF energy to be delivered than traditional RF, creating lesions that distally-project more than 45% beyond the probe’s tip, resulting in a spherically-shaped lesion that can reach up to 12mm in width (in bench testing).

Standard Radiofrequency

With Standard RF, the lesion projects distally a minimal distance beyond the tip, resulting in an elliptical shape.

Learn About Standard RF

Pulsed Radiofrequency

Pulsed radiofrequency utilizes radiofrequency in a pulsatile manner in order to allow the heat to dissipate, thereby not creating a thermal lesion.2
